Sonnetanzer was bought at the 74th Oldenburg Elite Auction in Vechta Germany in 2011. As a three year old he demonstrated strength of character, an electric trot, balanced canter and a great walk through the shoulder. In all paces he is an extremely uphilll mover.
His sire, Sir Donnerhall is a Bundeschampion and Vice World Champion. He won his 70 day test in Adelheidsdorf and was awarded a dressage index of 163 points - a score never achieved by a stallion before. His jumping was just as outstanding and he won this category as well with a total index of 151 points.
Sir Donnerhall's sire, Sandro Hit is one of the most successful breeding stallions of modern times. He has produced numerous approved sons including several champion stallions, 120 state premium mares and eleven Bundeschampions. His offspring are legendary. In 2009 12 times Grand Prix winner Sancisco OLD received the VTV Dressage stallion of the year award. Two Times Bundechampion Poetin still holds the all time auction price of EUR 2.5 million.
Sir Donnerhall's Dam's sire, Donnerhall is one of the most successful dressage horses of all time. In 1986 Donnerhall was the German DLG Champion in Hanover. After many wins in Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and freestyle classes at International level he became German champion in Mannheim with his constant rider Karin Rehbein in 1994, team world champion and individual bronze medal winner in The Hague.

DAM SIDE Noble Roi XX is one of the most successful thoroughbred sires of German Warmblood breeding – according to his FN rating! His offspring have excelled at the top levels of all three Olympic disciplines of Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing. In addition, Noble Roi has produced many top auction horses including 21 for the world's most prestigious auction, the PSI, which were sold for an average price of DM 125,000. Sonnetanzer's Dam, Feldminze is from the significant Feldgold family which has produced many licensed stallions including; Dr Rudolfo, Bacardio, Blue River, Rachmaninoff, Imparo and Weltissimo who wins at Grand Prix with Hubertus Schmidt. Admiral I is the granddam sire of Sonnetänzer. The A line represents one of the most succesful dressage lines in German breeding history. Admiral I was born in 1970. Im 1972 he became champion young stallion and in 1974, won the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf. He died of blood poinsoning at a young age after only two covering seasons. Despite having only two crops of foals on the ground, he presented eight approved sons. The younger full brother, Admiral II won his Stallion performance test in 1974, one year after Admiral I won his test. This double victory by full brothers has never been repeated.
