E'Tahu-na Toa

news E'Tahu-na Toa
Early in 2010 the 14th free jumping contest of the Hanoverian breeding program took place in Verden. Forty five competitors took part. Solero MS by Silvio/Espri came out on top. Both Silvio and Espri are part of E'Tahu-na Toa’s Sire line. Silvio is the sire of the famous Shutterfly, undoubtly the greatest Hanoverian jumper of this century. Espri was the 1995 Hanoverian Stallion of the year.

Winter Auction: At the winter auction in verden, the most expensive jumper was Ernie by Escudi / Graf Grannus. Both of which are also in E'Tahu-na Toa’s pedigree. Escudo  on the sire line, Graf Grannus on the Dam’s.

Kariba

I backed Kariba this month. No bucks! No iussues! What an amazing temperatment. I suppose thats what great breeding is about!

This is the first time I ever jumped on her back.

For the first week we ride the young ones with simply lead reins attached to the halter. They learn to neck rein and stop with nose pressure. All this time they also have a bit in their mouth so they can simply get used to it.

April 2010

I have registered my Research Project with Massey University, New Zealand. I am doing a Master of Animal Science. The topic is; "Utilizing the European Sport Horse, I will explore the correlation between inbreeding and performance, exploring the possibility of a marked difference in correlation between the disciplines of Jumping and Dressage." Please see the research section in the home page for further details.

E'Mangutoa's grandsire is state stud sire Escudo who was awarded Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2009
Escudo I has been one of the best German stallions on the breed value rankings for years. His offspring in show jumping sport contribute to his currently excellent breed value of 151 points, his daughters and sons in the Hanoverian breed value estimation have contributed to his mark of 147 points for show jumping and 145 for riding horse points and type. Escudo I has 306 daughters registered with the Hanoverian Society, 83 of them have been awarded state premium mare status. He has had 89 foals and 67 riding horses sold at the Verden auctions. Of his 25 licensed sons, 15 are currently registered with the Hanoverian Stallion Book I. Escudo I sons, the Celle state stud stallions Earl and El Bundy won their stallion performance tests, just like their sire, and another son, Embassy, is one of the most popular Hanoverian show jumping stallions.
Apart from his breeding career, Escudo I was also a successful competition horse. He won the Hanove- rian Show Jumping Championships in Dobrock under Joachim Winter in 1996, and he became Vice Bundeschampion in Warendorf, which he followed with various successes up to advanced level.

The river came down in flood and I thought it was a great time to introduce our yearling E'Tahu-na Toa to water.

March 2010

Kariba our final foundation mare will soon be with us. The new block of stables are nearly complete and suffice to say, her new view is spectacular.

February 2010

E'mangutoa was the best Warmblood yearling of 2010 (3rd in his class of under one years). Though it was his first time out in public with other horses, he was incredibly well behaved and trotted around the ring like an old hand... This certainly showed the depth of his breeding in terms of temperament and ultimately rideability. His mother, Mai Girl, obtained a 9 for her rideability in her performance test in Germany.

December 2009

Kariba's sire is Kaiserkult

Kaiserkult, kariba's sire won his first two Grand Prix's in Munich. He is 11 years old and by all accounts has a great future ahead of him as a competition horse.

November 2009

E'Tahu-na Toa's sire is Embassy:
An Embassy/Fabriano-son won the freejumping competition of three-year olds of "Programm Hannoveraner Springpferdezucht". He is the fullbrother of the Celle State Stud sire Edward. His breeder is Hans-Heinrich Dittmer, Radbruch, his exhibitor Hans-Henning von der Decken, Stade. 76 three-year olds participated in the competition. Jugdes were internationally wellknown Dutch Hans Horn and Joerg Wilhelm Wegener from the Hanoverian Verband.
